J&S and Timming

I'm installing a J&S on my SC GSR. Can I raise my timming back up to 16-18 degree?

At 6 psi, 16 degrees may be possible, at 8, most likely 14. You need to tune it with the J&S per their instructions. Normal operation you should see 1-2 lights now and then, but not all the time.

Hey Lund,
do you think the J&S's knock sensor is sensitive enough to detect knock efficiently? I thought the J&S had more parameter checking than the TPS voltage and the supplied knock sensor.

It is as sensitive as you want it to be, you can adjust it. There is a lead from the TPS sensor that tells the J&S when to be 'armed' This way at low RPM's (<2000 or so) it will never retard, since we know that anything that low is not detonation.
